Mysuru: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Mysuru district unit volunteers staged a novel protest against price rise, by staging a street play, at Gandhi Square in the city on Monday.

AAP Youth Wing President Mohammed Ismail, who led the protest said “the family income of common man is just around Rs 8,000 to Rs 10,000 per month and it is very difficult for them to manage their budget. Instead of providing relief, the government is putting more burden on the common man during this difficult epidemic times” he said.

Malavika Gubbivani District Unit President of AAP, said “the policies of the government are pro-rich and corporates without any consideration towards the common people, who are being harassed due to rise in prices of all the essential commodities and services. It is imperative that people raise their voice against such policies” she said.

The street play was written and directed by Girish Machalli, who is also the AAP City Unit Organising Scretary.

Malavika, Mohammed Ismail, Girish Machalli, Ravichandra, Irfan baig, Masood, Usha Sampathkumar, Kiran Kalyani, Syed Fareed, Varalakshmi, Akram Sharif, Dharmashree, Renukaprasad, G R Vidyaranya and others took part in the protest, according to G R Vidyaranya, AAP, Media Coordinator.
