Mysuru: While the district administration is still groping in the dark on how P-52 from Jubilant campus contracted the virus, a similar case from Nazabad has baffled them.
A 72-year-old man from Nazarbad tested positive for Covid-19 on Wednesday. Prima facie, the patient do not have any history of travelling abroad. Besides, he has not come in contact with anyone who has contracted the virus, as submitted by the patient. Yet, he has tested positive.
Apparently, he was suffering from fever for the past five days. He had admitted himself to a nursing home in Nazarbad and was under treatment for three days. Doctors treating him found that the patient had low platelet count, so they advised him to another hospital where he tested positive for Covid-19. Now, he has been isolated and in observation.
Meanwhile, the police have marked it a Red Zone and have intensified the security over there. They have cordoned off the area where the patient’s house is located.
The district administration has identified 220 contacts of the patient and they have been quarantined.
Also, all the staff of the nursing home where he had taken initial treatment for fever have also been quarantined.
The police are also trying to obtain CCTV footage in areas where he must have travelled to find more possible contacts.
