JD(S) ready to wage war against corruption, price hike and Congress government, says Nikhil Kumaraswamy

Bengaluru:“Sakappa Saaku Congress Sarkara”—this is not just a JD(S) slogan, but a reflection of the sentiment of 7.5 crore people of the state, said Nikhil Kumaraswamy.
“This protest is not a one-day campaign. It will continue as long as the Congress remains in power,” he said while lashing out at the state government.

A protest against the Congress government was held at Freedom Park in BBengaluruon Saturday nder the leadership of Nikhil Kumaraswamy, with the resounding slogan “Sakappa Saaku Congress Sarkara.”
Development at a standstill
He criticised that under Congress rule, development in the state has come to a complete halt. “In just two years of governance, the Congress has brought hardship upon the people. They’ve hiked rates from birth certificates to death certificates. Bus fares, metro fares, hospital fees—everything has become more expensive,” he charged.

“In this government, the only free thing left is the air we breathe—everything else has been hit with a price hike. Even the CM’s own financial advisor admitted that Karnataka ranks first in corruption. That’s the truth,” Nikhil said.
He challenged, “Basavaraj Rayareddy, give us just one opportunity—we will eradicate commission-based corruption. Family members of ministers are working as commission agents,” he alleged.

State approaching an economic tsunami
“There are many first-time MLAs in the JD(S). How will they even ask the public for votes in the next election?” Nikhil questioned.
“In Himachal, your own party promised guarantees and caused an economic tsunami. You’ve borrowed ₹2 lakh crore in just two years and put the people in trouble,” he accused.
Rs 2 lakh crore debt in just two years
“This Chief Minister has presented the 16th budget of the state. But within just two years of coming to power, they’ve borrowed ₹2 lakh crore. You claimed you’d give five guarantees—now look at the state of affairs. The people themselves are saying ‘we don’t want your guarantees’ anymore.”
“In Telangana, CM Revanth Reddy said he didn’t realise how difficult these guarantees would be. That says it all,” Nikhil thundered.

Honey trap, money trap, tax trap, commission trap
“We expected meaningful, subject-based discussion in the Assembly, focused on comprehensive development of the state. As young legislators, we hold the House in high regard,” he said.
“But instead, ministers are caught in honey traps, the high command is caught in money traps, the people are caught in tax traps, and contractors are caught in commission traps. Discussions are being held on everything except development,” he said angrily.
JD(S) is ready to wage a war against the government for the people
“Have you spent Rs 1 lakh crore on development? Have you paid salaries? Or is everything just a guarantee?” he questioned.
“When there was a coalition government, every day Kumaraswamy was subjected to pain. Yet he endured it and waived farmers’ loans. You humiliated Kumaranna multiple times. Now we’ve taken to the streets. JD(S) is ready for battle,” he declared.
Congress is sowing poisonous seeds among the public
“For the past two years, SIT and Lokayukta have been functioning as independent bodies. I respect them. But you’ve started misusing even those institutions,” Nikhil said.
“Today, Congress is sowing poisonous seeds among the common people. What exactly are you doing? The wheel of time will turn. Soon, it will turn in our favour,” he warned.

*JD(S) will return to power in 2028*
“Deve Gowda built this party through struggle. It was nurtured by sincere workers. I have only one dream—not of position or power—but that those workers who built this party must be recognised and elevated,” Nikhil said.
“I believe the people will bring our party back to power on their own in the coming days,” he added with confidence.
