Sakappa Saaku Congress Sarkara; Massive protest by JD(S) in Bengaluru today

3 min read

Bengaluru: “‘Sakappa Saaku Congress Sarkara (Enough of this Congress Government)’ is not just our slogan — it is the voice of 7.5 crore people of the state. It reflects the tears and cries of the common Kannadiga,” said Nikhil Kumaraswamy, State President of the JD(S) Youth Wing, expressing his outrage.

Speaking to the media ahead of the protest, he accused the Congress Government of misgovernance and corruption. “Under the guise of the five guarantees, they are looting the state’s wealth,” he said.

“We have organised this protest at Freedom Park to oppose the government’s misrule and the rising cost of living. ‘Enough is enough of the Congress Government’ — this is what people are saying in every home. Our party is responding to the sentiments of the people,” he stated.

“We are holding this protest with a clear sense of responsibility and duty. Under the leadership of Union Minister H D Kumaraswamy, we are launching this massive agitation. It’s not just about corruption or mismanagement — our protest will address several issues. This is not a one-day campaign. Our fight will continue for as long as this government remains in power,” he asserted.

“A strong response must be given to this misrule”

“This sentiment — ‘Sakappa Saaku Congress Sarkara’ — has reached every village and is echoing in the sentiments of every individual. This anti-people government is exploiting the public. A strong and united response is needed to challenge Congress’ misrule. I urge everyone to join hands with us, participate in large numbers, and make this campaign a success,” Nikhil appealed.

“There’s no limit to commissions anymore”

“In the last election, these very Congress leaders campaigned with the ‘PayCM’ slogan against the previous government, accusing it of taking 40% commission. They asked for one chance, claiming they would eradicate corruption entirely. But now, corruption has reached a stage where *there is no limit to the percentage — it has exceeded all bounds,” he alleged.

“I congratulate Rayareddy”

“I congratulate Basavaraj Rayareddy for speaking out about the government’s corruption. Yes, corruption exists in many governments — we don’t deny that. But Rayareddy himself has stated that Karnataka ranks number one in corruption. We respect his honesty. It is to break free from such a corrupt system that we are launching this protest. As for his remarks about the BJP-JD(S) coalition, those are purely political in nature,” he clarified.

Caste Census: “No one came to our house or my grandfather Deve Gowda’s house for enumeration,” says Nikhil

Nikhil Kumaraswamy alleged that the caste census was not carried out in a systematic or scientific manner.

“First, the government must disclose the contents of the report. Only then can we take a considered stand. But one thing is certain — this caste census was not done scientifically. No one came to our house, nor to my grandfather Deve Gowda’s residence for enumeration,” he said.

“Whenever they face political trouble, certain people suddenly remember issues like this. He has been Chief Minister for five years, and again for two more years; he has been the Finance Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, and Leader of the Opposition. Yet, despite holding all these positions, he couldn’t uplift the AHINDA communities. Now he’s resorting to political gimmicks,” Nikhil remarked.
