Akhila Karnataka Brahmin Mahasabha polls: Bhanuprakash Sharma files nomination for President

Bengaluru:  Well known priest and scholar  Bhanuprakash Sharma filed nomination papers for the elections to the post of president of Akhila Karnataka Brahmin Mahasabha (AKBMS).
 
The voting will be held on April 13, and Sharma filed his nomination papers at Gayatri Bhavan, the headquarters of the Mahasabha in the city on Tuesday. 

Before filing papers, he offered special prayers at the Umamaheshwara Temple on K R Road and marched in a procession to Gayatri Bhavan along with the sitting president of the Mahasabha Ashok Haranahalli and other leaders.

Speaking on the occasion, Bhanuprakash Sharma promised to work for the overall welfare of Brahmins through AKBMS, the representative body of all Brahmins.

‘The current president of the Mahasabha, Ashok Haranahalli, has done a lot of work. He has been successful in bringing many demands of Brahmins to the attention of the government and in doing many progressive works. I will also follow the same path and my goal is the comprehensive development of Brahmins. You should all join hands in this effort,’ he appealed.

Former president of the Brahmin Development Board, Sachidananda Murthy, leaders Y N Sharma, Sudhakar Babu, Raghavendra Bhatta, H C Suresh, Vatsala Nagesh, Chhayapati, Rupa Iyer, Ashwathnarayan and others were present on the occasion.
