Nikhil Kumaraswamy leads massive protest for delay in crediting Gruha Lakshmi money

3 min read

Bengaluru: Releasing Gruha Lakshmi funds at their convenience is unacceptable. Siddaramaiah, tell us the exact date when the funds will be credited. Women across the state are anxiously waiting. Announce a fixed date as per your own promise,” Nikhil Kumaraswamy demanded at a massive protest rally.

Today, a massive protest was held at Freedom Park in Bengaluru, where Nikhil Kumaraswamy, President of the JD(S) youth wing exposed the Congress government’s failures in implementing the guarantee schemes.

Guarantees: A Political Shortcut to Win Elections

“There is a widespread belief that for this government, guarantees are nothing but a shortcut to winning elections. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, you cannot release funds as per your whims. Set a fixed date on the calendar and declare it. Release a guarantee calendar in your budget and announce the date when funds will be credited every month via DBT,” he insisted.

Does the Government even have financial awareness?

“Does this government even know how much money is required for its five guarantee schemes? Did the people of Karnataka even ask for these guarantees? Himachal Pradesh has already gone bankrupt under Congress rule. After Congress came to power there, they borrowed Rs 40,000 crore. If this situation arises in Karnataka as well, it won’t be surprising,” he warned.

Guarantee funds only for election gains

“I want to tell all mothers and sisters—do not keep any expectations until the district and taluk panchayat elections. Your bank accounts may not receive any funds before the elections. We have seen how they manipulate money transfers to benefit their political game,” Nikhil Kumaraswamy said in anger.

Gandhi family should answer

“Congress’ national leaders, answer us! You made big claims about guarantees in your speeches. Rahul Gandhi, you walked across the country with your Bharat Jodo Yatra, promising everything, but today, contractors sums to the tune of Rs 64,000 crore is pending. I watched the news today that contractors are meeting Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge. What will come out of these meetings?” he questioned.

Our tax money is going to the Gandhi family

“If Congress still exists in this country, it is because of the hard-earned tax money of 7.5 crore people. They are filling their pockets with this money and offering it to Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi. This government should be ashamed,” Nikhil said.

Law and Order has collapsed, common people are suffering

“This government has completely neglected farmers, contractors, and BPL cardholders. Law and order has collapsed entirely. The incident in Mysuru is a clear example—where stones are thrown at a police officer, where is the legal system?” he asked with concern.

Speaking about the Bhadravathi incident, he advised government officials, “Don’t sit idle, thinking the attack happened to someone else. How long will you remain helpless? The JD(S) stands with you. Today, it happened to your colleague. Tomorrow, it could happen to you. Stop adjusting to this broken system,” he cautioned.

Dalits and tribals matter only during elections

“You always give speeches claiming to support backward communities. You allocated Rs 350 crore for six corporations this year, but only Rs 85 crore has been spent. Where did the rest of the money go? Was it diverted for elections in other states? Do the Comgress remember Dalits and tribals only during elections?” Nikhil Kumaraswamy questioned, slamming the Congress government.
