Chennais Amirta students make Karnataka proud on Republic Day:  National Anthem etched onto a watermelon

Bengaluru: Students at Chennais Amirta International Institute of Hotel Management (IIHM), R R Nagar, set a new record on Republic Day, exemplifying the nation’s robust democracy.
 
They skillfully inscribed the national anthem on 55 watermelons in a remarkable time of 19 minutes and 17 seconds.
 

A total of 55 watermelons were uutilised o inscribe the verses of the national anthem. The students accomplished the task of carving the lines that read Janagana Mana Adhinayaka Jaya Hai… onto the watermelons.

On this occasion, student Pooja Naik created another record for carving a floral designs on 76 watermelons in one hour.
 
Earlier, an Andhra institute had a record of carving a floral design on 30 watermelons in one hour. Pooja Naik has surpassed this.

Both feats entered India Book of Records making the Karnataka proud.

Retired IPS officer D N Munikrishna, a retired member of the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) and retired Vigilance Director of Karnataka Lokayukta, Harish R, Adjudicator of IBR, were the chief guests.
 
R Bhoominathan, President of Chennais Amirta International Institute of Hotel Management, was present at the function.
