Thanush-Aarav pair triumphs in AITA U-12 National series tournament

Bengaluru: Thanush Shekar B C of Karnataka had mixed luck in the year’s first AITA U-12 National Series tournament in New Delhi over the weekend.
The 10-year-old Bengalurean and his partner Aarav Bele of Maharashtra, the fourth seeds, scored a 6-4, 7-6 (7-3) won over the third-seeded pair of Nihal S Reddy (of Karnataka) and Tegveer Singh in the title clash.
Thanush and Aarav had accounted for the top-seeded duo of Nayan Khatri and Laqshya Tripathi 6-0, 1-6, 13-11 in the semifinals.
However, Thanush, the top seed in singles, went down fighting 0-6, 6-1, 3-6 to the fourth-seeded Laqshya in the final.
Results: Singles: Final: Thanush Shekar BC (Kar) lost to Laqshya Tripathi 0-6, 6-1, 3-6.
Doubles: Final: Thanush Shekar B C/ Aarav Bele bt Nihal S Reddy/ Tegveer Singh 6-4, 7-6 (7-3). Semis: Thanush/ Aarav bt Nayan Khatri/ Laqshya Tripathi 6-0, 1-6, 13-11.
