BHEL Day: BHEL, Bengaluru unit secures Excel Awards

Noida: Union Minister for Heavy Industries & Steel, H D Kumaraswamy, graced the occasion of BHEL Day and the Excel Awards Ceremony at BHEL’s Noida campus.
In his address, Minister Kumaraswamy began by wishing the attendees a “very happy BHEL Day and New Year.”
He expressed his hope that the coming year would bring “happiness, prosperity and good health in abundance.”

He further shared his appreciation for the company’s employees, noting the “exceptional sense of belongingness” among them, which he had personally experienced during visits to the BHEL township on International Yoga Day and the Bengaluru unit earlier.
“Another remarkable aspect of BHEL is its resilience, its ability to bounce back from difficult situations,” said Kumaraswamy.
“Since its inception, BHEL has faced numerous challenges, but with fortitude and courage, you have overcome every obstacle and touched new heights of success.”
The minister emphasised the significance of BHEL’s contributions to both the Indian economy and national defense.

“Besides its traditional power sector, it has been a key supplier of equipment and weapons to the Indian defense forces. BHEL has also played a crucial role in ISRO’s successful Chandrayaan-3 mission,” he remarked.
Kumaraswamy expressed his pride in BHEL’s role in making India self-reliant in various sectors, including energy, infrastructure, defense, and aerospace. He lauded the company for its dedication to the nation’s progress, saying, “Employees are the most valuable assets of any organisation, and their contributions are key to its success.”
The event culminated in the presentation of the BHEL Excel Awards, with Kumaraswamy personally felicitating the awardees for their excellence in work.

“It gives me immense pleasure that I got the opportunity to felicitate those employees who demonstrated excellence in their work,” he stated. He also conveyed his congratulations to the winners and their families, wishing them “continued success and a prosperous future.”
Reaffirming the government’s support for BHEL’s growth, he assured, “The Ministry of Heavy Industries is fully committed to supporting your efforts. Whenever BHEL requires any assistance, the Ministry of Heavy Industries will always be there to help.”

Minister Kumaraswamy concluded his speech with a note of optimism, saying, “I firmly believe that with our hard work and dedication, we will overcome all challenges and pave the way for the progress of the company and the nation.”
The event, which celebrated the remarkable achievements of BHEL and its employees, saw the presence of several distinguished guests, including Bhupathiraju Srinivasa Varma, Minister of State for Heavy Industries & Steel, Kamran Rizvi, Secretary of the Ministry of Heavy Industries, K Sadashiv Murthy, CMD of BHEL and various officials from the Ministry of Heavy Industries, BHEL’s Board of Directors, former CMDs and the jury members of the Excel Awards.
