Amid HC hearing, CM Siddaramaiah’s temple visit sparks a buzz

Mysuru: Amid the hearing at High Court, over the Governor ordering for his prosecution in 50:50 site scam at Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA), Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s visit to the Goddess Chamundeshwari temple, Chamundi Hill on Tuesday has sparked a buzz.

That Siddaramaiah is a atheist, who refuses to sport Kumkum (vermillion) o his forehead is known to all, but there have been occasions, when Siddaramaiah has sought divine intervention during the decisive moments of his public life.

Like how Siddaramaiah visited the Goddess Chamundeshwari temple on the eve of Assembly elections on May 9, 2023, is etched in the memory of those in his inner circle.

According to the revised tour programme, CM Siddaramaiah will be arriving in the city on Monday at Mysuru Airport in Mandakalli at 7.25 pm, in a special flight from HAL Airport, Bengaluru. On Tuesday at 10 am, Siddaramaiah will be visiting the Goddess Chamundeshwari temple at Chamundi Hill, and hold a meeting of Sri Chamundeshwari Kshetra Development Authority at Dasoha Bhavan at the hill at 10.30 am. He will leave for Bengaluru in a special flight at 2 pm.

Earlier Siddaramaiah was scheduled to arrive in the city on Monday at 11.25 am and visit Chamundeshwari temple and hold the temple Authority meeting at 12.30 pm. He was to fly back to Bengaluru at 4.45 pm.

However the tour programme was revised, with the reasons not known. Incidentally amavasya is on Monday.
