Mysuru: The Inner wheel Club of Mysore, in association with Sree Mahaganapathi Seva Trust, Brindavan Extension, Mysore had organised a two-day Early Cancer Detection Camp for Women on August 28 and 29
at the premises of Sree Mahaganapathi Temple, Brindavan Extension, in the city.
L Arun Kumar, President, Sree Mahaganapathi Temple, Brindavan Extension, Mysore, Pallavi Arun Kumar, Chairperson and Sumathi, Secretary, Inner Wheel Club of Mysore, inaugurated the camp by lighting the lamp.

A team of highly experienced doctors from M S Ramaiah Hospital, Bengaluru rendered the voluntary service.
Women above the age of 40 years were examined for the symptoms of breast cancer and cervical cancer and for those who were suspected to have such symptoms were
advised for further treatment in phases.
During this camp, more than 185 women were examined for such cancers.

L Arun Kumar, the president of the trust, who delivered the inaugural address, mentioned that nowadays cervical and breast cancers are detected in most of the women and hence they are to be diagnosed and treated at the early stage. But unfortunately, many ladies are totally unaware of these symptoms. Owing to their poor financial status, they would not come forward for the check up and detection of such cancers.
In the valedictory function, Pallavi Arun Kumar, Chairperson, Inner Wheel Club of Mysore, opined that a homemaker of a family would be able to take care of her responsibilities, only if her health is well
maintained. However, in particular families with working women, they would not be in a position to give much attention to her health amidst her busy work schedule and there will not be much benefit of treatment, once the cancer has grown beyond a critical stage. Hence much care is needed to be taken by
women about their health, she advised.
Shashikala, Lalitha Ranganath of Inner Wheel Club, Dr Shamasundar, Dr Bhaskar from Red
Cross Society, Suresh Gowda, Sheshagiri, Harish, Keerthi Kumbar, Chandrashekar volunteers of National Service Scheme (NSS), ATME College of Engineering (ATMECE) were present.
