Mysuru: Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) will be adopting Miyawaki method of cultivating forests in the city and to begin with, it will be planting 12,000 saplings on 1.2 acres plot at the garden on Hinkal main road, Vijayanagar third stage in the city.

M/s Toyota Kirloskar Autoparts Private Ltd, Bidadi has joined hands with MCC in taking forward the initiative.

The Miyawaki method of cultivating the forest will be launched on August 31 at 10.30 am at the park on Hinkal main road.

MCC has devised this concept, in the wake of increasing air pollution leading to global warming and production of carbon dioxide. To address the situation, cultivating greenery with the plantation of tree saplings is the only solution by bringing down carbon dioxide level.

Miyawaki method of developing the forest is a dense cultivation process that can be realised in 10 years.

MCC has identified some of the parks to bring them under Miyawaki forest method.

Chamundeshwari MLA G T Devegowda, MCC Commissioner Ashaad-Ur-Rehman Shariff, Managing Director of M/s Toyota Kirloskar Autoparts Private Ltd, Bidadi, K N Prasad, Vice President and Director, M/s Toyota Kirloskar Autoparts Private Ltd Tabraiz Ahmed, will be present.

About 200 to 250 employees of M/s Toyota Kirloskar Autoparts Private Ltd, Bidadi, MCC and students of Mahajana School will also be present.
