Rs 99.20 lakh seized from car on Mysuru-Bengaluru Expressway

Mandya: A whopping Rs 99.20 lakh cash was seized from a car at Nidaghatta check-post in Maddur taluk on Mysuru- Bengaluru Expressway on Monday.
Following the announcement of Lok Sabha Election, Static Surveillance Team (SST) deputed at the check-post stopped a car proceeding from Bengaluru to Mysuru at 7 pm. Upon inspection, a wad of currency notes amounting to Rs. 99.20 lakh was found in a gunny bag, stated a press release by District Election Officer, Mandya.
Action has been taken to hand over the amount to Income Tax Department for further investigation.
