New Delhi: Rahul Gandhi’s disqualification as Member of Parliament has been revoked by the Lok Sabha Secretariat as the Supreme Court has put a stay on his conviction by Gujarat High Court.
Rahul Gandhi was disqualified from the Parliament after his remarks against ‘Modi’ surname during Lok Sabha elections in Kolar in 2019.
A notification revoking his status as MP has been issued by the Lok Sabha secretariat.
Responding to the notification, Congress leader Shashi Tharoor said “With enormous relief, welcome the offical announcement of RahulGandhi’s reinstatement. He can now resume his duties in the Lok Sabha to serve the people of India and his constituents in Wayanad. A victory for justice and for our democracy!”
