AVAGAMAH at ATMECE! Budding engineers show talent at State-level technical fest

Mysuru: The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, ATME College of Engineering (ATMECE), Mysuru had organized an FDP on “State level Technical fest AVAGAMAH” in association with ‘Quantum’ at its campus on May 8.

It was a platform for exhibiting students’ technical ability and creating awareness about the latest research and inventions in the stream of Electrical & Electronics Engineering and Electronics & Communication Engineering.

Dr Shamala N, Professor & Head, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, VVIET, Mysuru, Dr Lokesh N, Assistant Professor, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, NIEIT, Mysuru and Dr Prakash Kuravatti, Associate Professor, Department of Electronics and Communication, ATMECE, Mysuru, were the chief guests.

Technical Project Expo was held online and offline as part of the Fest. Capstone projects from various parts of the State were exhibited.

The offline winner’s list is as follows. The project titled ‘Mitigation of Voltage Sag, Sell, and Harmonics’ using UPQC presented by Chandra Mohan S, Trupthi E Gowda, Vaibhav Surendra, Yashas M and Raghunandan D R Dept. of EEE, JSSSTU, Mysuru bagged 1st place.

‘EV Mithra’ presented by Kumar Gowda K and Abdulla Danish, VVIET, Mysuru bagged second place, ‘Portable Ventilator for Critical Health Care Application’ presented by Meghana M, Jeevan S, Shashank S and Prasanna, ATMECE, Mysuru bagged third place and ‘Aqua Quality Surveillance Boat’ presented by Charan M, Sharada S, Suman P and Yashas E S, VVIET, Mysuru bagged consolation prize.

The online winner’s list is as follows. The project titled ‘Low-cost E-Rickshaw for Rural Application’ presented by Rakesh V, Sridhar B, Kowhtubha M, and Rohan Gowda R, DBIT, Bengaluru bagged first place. ‘IOT-Based System to Control Household Appliances and Monitor its Energy Consumption’ presented by Md. Mohseen S, Mohammed Sohail, Rushmitha Sai P and Peshumam E, BITM, Ballari, bagged second place, ‘A Multi-purpose drone’ for drugs distribution, sanitisation and to create COVID-19 Awareness presented by Shivaraj M S, Varshitha B and Roja N, GMIT, Mandya bagged third place and ‘Real-Time Face Mask Detection and Monitoring system RFMDM’, presented by K B Pavan, Aparna N and K Bhaumik, NMIT, Bangalore bagged consolation prize.

Cash prizes and certificates were distributed to winners.

Dr L Parthasarathy, HoD, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, M Praveen Kumar, Shreeshayana R, event coordinators, faculty and students were present.
