Bengaluru: Two warring officers – IPS officer D Roopa Moudgil and IAS officer Rohini Sindhuri Dasari – have been transferred with immediate effect by the State government on Tuesday, to put an end to their ongoing bitter public spat. Both the officers have not given any new posting.
In a circular issued by the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms on Monday, both the officers have been transferred. Along with them, IPS officer D Roopa’s husband who is also an IAS officer Munish Moudgil too has been transferred to the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms. Currently, IAS officer Munish Moudgil is serving as the Commissioner of Survey Settlement and Land Records.
While IPS officer D Roopa was serving as Managing Director, Karnataka State Handicrafts Development Corporation, IAS officer Rohini Sindhuri Dasari was serving as Commissioner for Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments.
IPS officer D Roopa had levelled serious allegations against IAS officer Rohini Sindhuri including mediating with MLA Sa Ra Mahesh, who had raised several complaints against the officer. This had turned ugly after IAS officer Rohini Sindhuri hit out at her stating that the IPS officer seemed to be suffering from mental illness and she was defaming her.
Their ugly fight had become a huge embarrassment to the State government and transferring both the officials is being seen as an effort to save its face.
