State Budget: After ‘Kivi Mele Hoovu’, Congress calls it “Burude Budget”

1 min read

Mysuru: Congress leaders continue to criticize the State Budget and on Sunday, they stuck posters that termed the budget as “Burude Budget” (Hollow budget) at Dewan’s Road near JK Ground.

On the day of the budget, Congress leaders including Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar mocked the budget presented by Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai by tucking flowers in their ears. The ‘Kivi Mele Hoovu’ protest (tucking flowers in ears) staged by the leaders to mock BJP’s unkempt promises drew criticism from the ruling government.

However, they continue to carry out protests in every district against the government’s false assurances. In Mysuru, Congress district unit president Dr BJ Vijay Kumar and Spokesperson M Lakshmana stuck posters criticizing BJP’s unkempt promises.
