Bus stop with ‘Gumbaz’ row: Siddu slams MP Prathap Simha

1 min read

Mysuru: Opposition leader Siddaramaiah on Tuesday took a diatribe against Mysuru- Kodagu MP Pratap Simha over creating a controversy related to the bus stop with Gumbaz like structures on the top, built in the city.

When the media persons drew his attention related to the controversy, Siddaramaiah said “he is a two time MP. What to say if he speaks without common sense”.

“It’s built using government funds, not of Prathap Simha’s. Who is he to demolish the structure? What were they doing, when the structure was being built? It’s the government engineers who built, not private engineers”, added Siddaramaiah.

The mughals ruled the country for 600 years and where were they during that time. Will they demolish all such Gumbaz like structures? Is it possible? Siddaramaiah shot back reminding that one shouldn’t meddle with history.

When the media persons raised a query as such issues are raked up ahead of elections, Siddaramaiah said “It’s all being done to polarise the votes, but it won’t work. But the people of Karnataka and the country are intelligent enough. They won’t subscribe to such tactics as they are secular”.

Former ZP Presidents Koorgalli Mahadev and K Marigowda, former ZP Member D S Ravishankar and others were present.
