Kalaburagi: With the rise in Covid-19 cases and parents of the students worried about the health of their children, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai is expected to take a call on schools after holding a meeting with experts in Bengaluru in the evening.

Speaking to media persons on his arrival in the city to participate in the 36th state level conference of journalists organised by Karnataka Union of Working Journalists ( KUWJ), Bommai said “All the experts of technical advisory committee on Covid, ministers and senior officers will attend the meeting.”

There are rise in cases in Maharashtra and Kerala too and it is obvious that the cases will surge whenever there is a rise in cases in neighbouring States.

Apart from existing curbs at the borders to allow only those with RT-PCR negative report and fully vaccinated, there is a need to take more stricter measures, CM said.

On the other hand, while speaking to media in Bengaluru, Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr K Sudhakar hinted at taking tougher measures with regard to schools.

The minister said that schools will be the subject of discussion at the experts meeting, as schools are closed in Goa, Telangana and Maharashtra.
