After receiving brickbats, UoM withdraws restrictions on women’s movement in Gangotri campus

Mysuru: Following the brickbats received over its circular banning the movement of women in its Manasagangotri campus after 6.30 pm, University of Mysore has withdrawn the circular.

In the revised circular dated August 27, registrar of the varsity has instructed the students to be cautious after evening hours. While the security patrolling should be conducted from 6 pm to 9 pm. While the entry of any person to Kukkarahalli lake after 6.30 pm, is prohibited.
The previous circular dated August 26 issued in this regard stands withdrawn, registrar added.
The circular had been issued in the wake of recent gang rape of a girl student in Mysuru.
