Mysuru: Mysuru and Kodagu MP Prathap Simha on Monday promised to take measures to bring down the total positivity rate (TPR) of Covid-19 cases below five per cent in the district, once the ease in lockdown is announced.
Simha told media persons “Mysuru district has TPR above 10 per cent now. With collective efforts only, we would be able to reduce the positivity rate further.”
In the month of May, positivity rate was above 28 per cent. It has come down a little bit, but the situation is grimy still. DC Dr Bagadi Gautham is aware about the situation and all are working towards reducing the positivity rate, Simha said.
We are aiming towards checking the growth in positivity rate, to facilitate unlock measures in Mysuru as soon as possible, he added.
It may be mentioned that unlike most of the other districts, the positivity rate in the district is above 10. Hence, there is no relaxation in lockdown till July 5.
