IRTCSO helps 60 porters, housekeeping staff with ration kit

Mysuru: Indian Railway Ticket Checking Staff Organisation (IRTCSO), Mysuru Division donated ration kits to sahayaks and housekeeping staff.
The sahayaks (earlier called Licensed Coolie Porters) and housekeeping staff are among the worst affected people in the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic. The second wave has brought about untold misery for them by snatching away their livelihood which is primarily the meagre porterage they earn by carrying passengers’ luggage.
With drastic reduction in travel plans by rail users, leading a decent life for them has become very tough for them.
Recognising their plight of these economically marginalised group, the members of the Indian Railway Ticket Checking Staff Organization (IRTCSO) of Mysuru Division have pooled their resources and donated ration kits for 60 members who work at Mysuru Railway Station. Each kit contains 5-kg rice, 1-kg dal, 1-kg Sugar and half a litre edible oil.
Rahul Agarwal, Divisional Railway Manager, South Western Railway, Mysuru Division appreciated the efforts of the Ticket Checking Organisation for the noble gesture of providing some succour to the needy in these critical times.
Manjunath Kanamadi, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Mysuru and Mayur Subbaiah, Divisional Working President and other office-bearers of, IRTCSO, Mysuru division and others were present.
