Suspected virus: College student dies

Mysuru: A 21-year-old woman has died of suspected virus at Kanaka Nagar in K R Nagar town in the district.
B S Shilpa daughter of late B Shivappa was suffering from diarrhoea from the past days. Initially she was treated at the taluk general hospital. As she didn’t show any signs of improvement, she was shifted to district hospital, followed by private hospitals in Mysuru city. However she didn’t survive and breathed her last on Thursday night.
The last rites were conducted at her native Bomnenahalli near K R Nagar. According to her parents, samples of her blood tested positive for a virus.
She was a final year degree student at Government First Grade College in the town.
The staff and students of the college had pooled Rs 70,000 and donated to the deceased student’s family to meet the expenditure of her treatment.
