2,500 rooms ready in Mysuru hotels to quarantine foreign returnees

Mysuru: As many as 2,500 rooms have been facilitated by the Hotel Owner’s Association to quarantine those coming from abroad to Mysuru. In all, there are 9,500 rooms and of them, 2,500 rooms have been readied for the purpose.

Following the directions of the government, the association president Narayangowda C has asked its members to join hands in fighting the pandemic.

DCF Prashant Kumar who is overseeing the process has been handed over the list of hotels for quarantine purpose.

The government has fixed Rs 3,000 per day, per head in Star hotels, Rs 2,000 for Three Star hotels and Rs 1,000 for other hotels. Upon this, the quarantined will have to pay for the food, they order.

Considering a couple of protests for having quarantine facility within the city, the association has identified hotels on the outskirts, on priority. The hotels have been asked to ensure safety and hygiene.

Meanwhile those who does not quarantine in hotels, they will be sent to hostels. They will not be allowed to have home quarantine.

The association has asked its members to join the district administration in fighting against the Covid-19 and not to oppose or argue against this.

In view of the mandatory 14-day quarantine for those arriving in Mysuru from abroad, the hotels in the city have facilitated their rooms as per the government order.
