75th Mahamastakabhisheka of Lord Bahubali held at Gommatagiri

Mysuru: The 75th Mahamastakabhisheka (anointing ceremony) of Lord Bahubali was conducted with great devotion at Gommatagiri, a revered Jain pilgrimage center in Hunsur taluk, on Sunday.

The annual ritual, which commenced on December 12, culminated with the final anointment ceremony attended by MLA G D Harish Gowda and Jain monks.
Devotees offered auspicious elements, including water, sandalwood paste and flowers, to the 20-foot-tall monolithic statue of Lord Bahubali.
Gommatagiri, known for its scenic hilltop location and spiritual significance, is a sacred site for the Jain community. The statue of Lord Bahubali here is believed to date back to the 12th century and attracts devotees from across the country.

The Jain community organised special religious programs daily during the event, drawing hundreds of participants who gathered to celebrate and seek blessings.
The Mahamastakabhisheka marked a grand conclusion to the annual festivities, reinforcing the spiritual and cultural importance of Gommatagiri.
