62nd Annual International Conference of AMI on Microbes and Society: Current Trends and Future Prospects (MSCTFP-2022) at JSS-AHER

Mysuru: JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research, Mysuru in association with the University of Mysore (UOM), CSIR-Central Food Technological Research Institute (CSIR-CFTRI), DRDO-Defence Food Research Laboratory (DRDO-DFRL), Karnataka Science and Technology Academy (KSTA) and Association of Microbiologists of India (AMI) jointly organised the pre-conference workshops inaugural ceremony as a part of 62nd Annual International Conference of AMI on Microbes and Society: Current Trends and Future Prospects (MSCTFP-2022) on September 19 at JSS Sri Rajendra Centenary Auditorium, JSS Hospital, Mysuru.

The workshops are organized for two days i.e., on September 19 and 20 for students and researchers actively involved in research across various institutions in the country. The main aims of these workshops were to have hands-on sessions and to know their applications.

The themes of the 4 pre-conference workshops are Diagnostic Virology- Basics to Advanced, Bioinformatics & Metagenomics, Fermentation Technology – Downstream & Upstream Process, Diagnosis of Food and Agriculturally Important Pathogens.

Dr Prakash M Halami – Chief Scientist & Professor AcSIR, Secretary AMI Mysore local Chapter from CFTRI welcome the gathering. The event was inaugurated by Chief Guest, Dr Surinder Singh, Vice Chancellor, JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research, Mysuru.

Dr Surinder Singh addressed the gathering by inspiring young minds and emphasized the importance and future of Microbiology & Life Science subjects to improve the society.

He motivated the students on how the industry and academia can connect and shape their career to advance in the field of Microbiology.

He shared his immense experience and his services in different Government setups and advised how the network can be established through these workshops and promote Research & Development.

Later Dr Tejashree, HoD Microbiology, JSS Medical College briefed about the preconference workshop on Diagnostic Virology- Basics to Advanced.

During the event, the workshop manual, and a campaign poster with slogan “SAVE ANTIBIOTICS and SAVE LIVES” were released by the dignitaries.

Lastly, the vote of thanks was delivered by Dr Prashant M Vishwanath.

Prof Raveesha K A – HoD, School of Life Sciences, JSS AHER, Mysuru, Organizing chairpersons of AMI Dr Chandra Nayak S, Coordinator, Vijnana Bhavana & Prof S Satish Chairman of Microbiology, University of Mysore, and the organizing Secretary of AMI Dr Prashant M Vishwanath – Research Director, JSS AHER, Dr Manjunath GV, HoD Pathology, Dr Tejashree- HoD Microbiology and Dr Sumana MN Dept. of Microbiology of JSS Medical College & Hospital, Mysuru were present.

More than 100 participants gathered for the success of the event.
