246 students, staff of MMK & SDM Women’s College take vaccine

Mysuru: Former minister and MLA S A Ramadass launched the campaign for Covid vaccine at MMK and SDM Women’s College in the city on Tuesday.

A total of 246 vaccines were administered to employees and students of the college.

Ramadass called on the people to build healthy young people for a strong India. In the second wave most of the youths had to face trouble and several lives were also lost. In the view of country’s future, it is inevitable for the youths to protect their physical and mental wellbeing, added Ramadass.

The students have to vouch on acquiring wisdom through education to build their life, advised Ramadass.

Principal Prof Sainath Malligemadu said “All the parents and students are aware of the importance of physical education in the event of Covid.”

The parents should give importance to the wellbeing of their wards and follow the safety protocols by wearing mask and maintaining social distance, said Malligemadu. 

He thanked the government for making the vaccine free for people in the age group of 18 to 45 years. Over 70 per cent of our college students have taken the vaccine.

Nayanakumari, Vice-Principal of PU College, Health Officer Mahadevappa, Medical Officer Dr Pushpalatha, Student Welfare Officer Dr Vinoda and Library Officer Padma were present.
