23 days after complaint, cops file FIR against Mysuru bishop

Mysuru: Twenty three days after a complaint was lodged sgainst the Bishop of Mysore K A William, a first information report (FIR) has been filed on November 28 at Lashkar police station.

Robert Rojario a social activist from Mangaluru had lodged a complaint on November 5.

In the complaint, Rojario has alleged that “a woman by name Shahana was earlier working in Bishop’s House on Mother Teresa road in the city. Following the harassment at the hands of Bishop and others, she quit the job and joined elsewhere. As she eas aware of many things, the accused Bishop along with the help of hooligans had kidnapped her. She had been threatened that her child and other family members will be eliminated if she troubled Bishop. Fearing for life, Shahana had kept mum. Now, Shahana should be considered as the main witness in the case and action should be initiated against the accused persons”.

According to FIR, all these occurred between January and July 2018.

The police have booked Bishop and others under IPC sections- 363 (kidnap), 354 (criminal force to woman) and 506 (intimidation).
