2.31 lakh kids administered polio drops

Mysuru: On the first day of pulse polio drive, a total 2.31 lakh kids (2,31,994), ie.,95.10 per cent, have been vaccinated in the district.

The target is to cover a total of 2,43,641 kids in the age group of 0 to five years.

According to DHO Dr Venkatesh “a total of 1,658 booths had been opened for the purpose from 8 am to 5 PM at public places, railway station and bus station”.

In the district, a total of 742 high risk areas had been identified and the target was 72,774. A total of 338 supervisors and 6,608 vaccinators had been deputed for the purpose.

To cover the remaining kids who are deprived of vaccination, a total of 6,484 vaccinations will be going door-to-door from January 20 to 22 in urban areas and up to January 23 in the rural areas.
