Mysuru: Over 100 year old heritage structure has collapsed in the city on Friday.
A portion of the portico of the fire station on Kantharaja Urs road in Saraswatipuram has caved in due to the heavy rainfall in the city from the past few days.
Fortunately nobody has suffered injuries, but a two-wheeler parked nearby has damaged in the incident. The incident occurred at about 3.30 pm. Abhaya team of MCC and police personnel have been rushed to take necessary measures to prevent any further damages.
According to the documents available, the building was constructed 125 years ago in the year 1894.
There is also a mention of exhibition organised in this building which has a vast expanse of ground inside. L Rickettes who was an education officer had conducted the exhibition.
The building was built only for the purpose of hosting the exhibition.
The first exhibition was conducted at Oval Grounds.
