Mysuru: The city of Palaces Mysuru is the cleanest city of the India. But the case of New Delhi that is fast seeing a dip in its air quality index, producing toxic air has sounded an alarm bell across the country.

To keep abreast of the air quality index of Mysuru, Ambee a start-up is installing 10 sensors in the city on November 23. It will coincide with ‘TiECON 2019’ a conference of start-ups organised at Hotel Radisson Blu Plaza in the city.

Indoor sensor

In an exclusive chat with Mysoorunews.com Ambee founder Madhusudhan said “Air is the basic requirement of living beings. However air pollution is impacting people and society. To improve the living standards and also help the government in framing policies it is essential to provide a real time data on the air quality index. Accordingly it is decided to install 10 sensors in Mysuru and later scale it up to 75. In Bengaluru too, plans are affot to install 100 sensors and gradually it will be increased up to 1000 across the country”.

Still, Mysuru will be the first city to avail of the benefit as they can keep themselves updated on air quality and also subscribe for daily alerts. The sensors are of indoor and outdoor types costing about Rs 30,000 to Rs 35,000. It works on data collected from satellite, artificial intelligence, machine learning to make accurate predictions on air quality in 90 countries across the globe.

The concept has caught the attention of technology giant like Google and also actress Aishwarya Rai Bachhan who are ready to invest.

Karnataka State Pollution Control Board ( KSPCB) has already installed two sensors on its own- one at K R Circle and another at its office in Hebbal. But, the equipment is costly, said Madhusudhan.

For record, Ambee is the first company to install such sensors while it is still under progress in Israel.
